Registro Nacional de Estrangeiros (Portuguese pronunciation: [ʁeˈʒistɾu nasioˈnaw dʒi estɾɐ̃ˈʒejɾus], National Foreigner Registry) or RNE is a personal identity document for foreign individuals living temporarily or permanently in Brazil. It has been required since 1938.
The Federal Police Department is the government entity responsible for registering the foreigner at the Ministry of Justice and issuing the document.
